Graduate Programs
Astroparticle Physics
The program leads to a PhD and is intended for international students with an undergraduate education in physics or a closely related subject.
Cognitive Systems and Processes
The transdisciplinary graduate program "Cognitive Systems and Processes", short COSYP, is linked to the Research Center with the same name. It has the main aim to study the generic processes in cognition as basis for artificial systems.
Communication, Systems, and Electronics
The key feature during the first three semesters is an equal load of coursework and project work in various fields of electrical engineering.
Computer Science - Smart Systems
As humans we can sense, act, speak, listen, decide and sometimes understand. The 21st century will witness technologies that can do the same. Jacobs University takes part in this rapidly growing, boldly interdisciplinary endeavor. Coordinated from the Jacobs University Computer Science group, a highly innovative and future-oriented graduate program in Smart Systems is offered.
Earth Sytem Science Research School (ESSRES)
The Earth System Science Research School (ESSRES) is a joint initiative between the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven, the Institute for Environmental Physics at the University of Bremen, and the Jacobs University, Bremen.
Geosciences
Spurred by urgent scientific and social questions, ranging from environmental concerns to the origin and evolution of the planet, the geosciences are experiencing a remarkable growth and provide excellent career opportunities in a broad range of modern fields in the geosciences.
International Logistics: Management Engineering
Logistics is certainly one of the oldest disciplines, matching supply and demand if they are miles apart. Over centuries this was a practical skill, sometimes an art, but now it is also a science involving investigation, research and development in order to provide excellence in knowledge, methods and tools.
Mathematical Sciences
The Mathematical Sciences Graduate Program at Jacobs University offers the opportunity for graduate study in pure, applied, and computational mathematics, as well as in mathematical physics.
Marine Microbiology
The International Max Planck Research School of Marine Microbiology (marmic) is an M.Sc. /Ph.D. graduate program for highly qualified and motivated national and international students.
MoLife - The Molecular Life Science Graduate Program at Jacobs University Bremen
MoLife offers different specialization areas (SAs) currently, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Molecular Biophysics, Molecular Biotechnology and Molecular Genetics.
Nanomolecular Sciences
The graduate program Nanomolecular Science at Jacobs University expressly takes up the challenge to provide an education versatile enough to provide graduates with excellent prospects in the interdisciplinary fields of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
Polar and Marine Research (POLMAR)
The Helmholtz Graduate School POLMAR provides a coherent framework for a well structured postgraduate programme at the Alfred Wegener Institute. POLMAR is established as a transdisciplinary umbrella organization to combine high level science qualification in the various disciplines of polar and marine research with other key qualifications through joint seminars, lectures and practical training.
